The Graubünden duo Johanna Heim (soprano) and Stephan Thomas (organ) open the Weggis Sunday concerts of the new winter semester with music from 19th century from France. Sacred music for soprano and instrumental accompaniment alternates with pure organ compositions, mainly by composers who made their mark in the field of organ music, such as Théodore Dubois, Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens, Alexandre Guilmant, Louis J. A. Lefébure-Wély, Léon Boëllmann, César Franck, as well as Gabriel Fauré and other masters. The programme is rounded off with "O salutaris hostia" by Gioacchino Rossini from the "Petite messe solennelle". Stephan Thomas writes: "This piece fits into our programne because Rossini was in fact a Parisian in the second half of his life."
