To mark the end of the 150th anniversary of the Rigi-Scheidegg Railway, a very special natural event awaits you: the total lunar eclipse on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
While the moon is barely visible in the valley basin, Rigi Scheidegg offers the best viewing conditions thanks to its location. - Half-shadow begins: 19.49 hrs - Main phase (totality) begins: 19.49 hrs - Main phase (totality) ends: 20.52 hrs - Half-shadow ends: 22.55 hrs Arrival is by regular train according to the timetable: rigi.ch/fahrplan.
On-site catering will be provided for your physical well-being. After your individual viewing of the lunar eclipse, an extra cable car ride will take you back to Rigi Kräbel at 9.05 pm with a connection to Arth-Goldau.
