Alpkäserei Chäserenholz – Rigi Kulm

The Chäserenholz alp is just a few minutes' walk from Rigi Kulm and offers marvellous views.

The alp cheese dairy produces 15 different varieties of cheese. Summer finds herdsman Franz-Toni Kennel producing some 12,000 kilograms of alp cheese in his dairy. Daily production starts early in the morning and continues until lunchtime. He makes cheese, butter and yoghurt from Rigi milk.

Buy the cheese locally on the alp or enjoy the products in the alp restaurant. His in-house specialities include raclette, fondue and cheese tart.

Casual visitors can pop in and see the dairy without prior notification. Shoe covers cost CHF 2 a pair. Guided tours conducted by Franz-Toni Kennel can be booked ahead for CHF 50.
