Leave the city and take the train or enjoy a leisurely boat trip to Beckenried, where a cableway whisks you up to Klewenalp in just a few minutes.
The Ricola herb garden, a large playground and the Panorama mountain restaurant are adjacent to the upper cableway terminus. The views here are of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains. Or would you rather immediately embark on a walk, MTB or bikeboard tour? You can put your fitness and skill to the test in the Emmetten Bike Arena. Book a riding technique course, a children’s mountain biking week or a women-only course.
This mountain inn serves regional specialities on its terrace or in its modern wood-panelled restaurant. The must-have dish in winter is the Alp-Chäs (alp cheese) fondue. The Pfänndliplausch, where you cook the meat and vegetables yourself to your taste, is a special experience.
The family-friendly resort of Klewenalp-Stockhütte offers 40 km of skiing enjoyment. The 9-kilometre-long sledge run between Stockhütte and Emmetten is the longest in Central Switzerland and boasts an altitude difference of 850 metres. It’s worthwhile stopping to admire the view every now and then. Or you can follow the waymarked winter footpaths or snowshoe trails. The combination of winter sports on the mountain with impressive views of the lake twisting this way and that is unique.
