Weggis Rosenfest – rosy moments on the Riviera

Will you be around on the first weekend in July when top-class bands rock for three days and folk music plays in the Kafistube? The spectacular Saturday evening fireworks display over Lake Lucerne is a further highlight. The children can enjoy themselves in the amusement park, in the play bus, on the bouncy castle or at the puppet theatre.

Inspired by Montreux's Narcissus Festival, seven young men in the 1920s sought to establish a bijou folk festival in Weggis. No sooner said than done. The roses that bloomed so abundantly in the gardens of the lakeside municipality were destined to become the symbol not only of the festival but of Weggis itself. The Weggis Rosenfest launched in 1926. It also features a spectacular fireworks display.
