Rigi Kulm – Staffel – Staffelhoehe – Kaenzeli – Rigi Kaltbad
Discover the winter magic of the Rigi now. This route is very popular for the hikers of all ages. You will march steadily downhill and go over more than 300 metres in altitude.
This leisure mountain hike offers magnificent views over the Central of Switzerland up to the Black Forest and the Vosges mountains. Let yourself be enchanted by those spectacular views of Lake Lucerne and Lake Zug. What awaits you is a maximal pleasure with minimal effort, as the path leads steadily downhill. Attention: Possibly road closures between Staffelhoehe and Chaenzeli by in unfavorable weather conditions. The panoramic view from the Kaenzeli vista point is simply fantastic. Queen Victoria of England has visited there already in 1868 and praised the majestic panorama.

The section between Staffelhoehe and Chaenzeli is not trail-prepared.
High profiled hiking boots or trakking boots, rain jacket, drink, food and walking sticks when possible.
Hot sausages in cold snow? Thanks to the ceiled fireplaces, which make the winter barbecue-fun also possible by icy temperatures and in snow.
At all Rigi valley stations and Goldau A4 Rigi railway station, you will find parking spaces at a fee.

Rigi Kulm, the starting point of the hike, is easily accessible from Vitznau or Goldau with the cogwheel train by Rigi Mountain Railways.
